Manville’s Weston Elementary School (Prek-2) is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic educator to join our team as an ESL Teacher for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting young English language learners and creating a positive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of early language acquisition principles and be committed to fostering the linguistic and socioemotional growth of our students.
Develop and implement developmentally appropriate ESL curriculum and instructional activities for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
Provide direct ESL instruction to small groups or individual students in a push-in model, as well a larger groups in a pull-out model, focusing on language development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Integrate language development activities into classroom instruction and collaborate with classroom teachers to support ESL students in accessing grade-level content.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and resources to engage young English language learners and address their diverse learning needs.
Collaborate with parents/guardians to provide support and resources for language development at home.
Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instruction as needed to meet individual learning goals.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families to support the academic and socioemotional needs of ESL students.
Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, Early Childhood Education, or related field.
Valid teaching certification/license with ESL endorsement or specialization.
Experience working with young children and/or English language learners in an educational setting.
Knowledge of early language acquisition principles and best practices in ESL instruction for elementary-aged students.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Creativity and flexibility in adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of young ESL learners.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues in the field of ESL education.
Proficiency in a second language is advantageous but not required.
