Residency Verification Officer (Part-time)

Job Goal: Fort Lee Public Schools is seeking a Part time Residency Verification Officer.

Reports To: Business Administrator

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Provide assistance to the Business Administrator in verifying and maintaining accurate student entry residency records.
2. Receive and verify all necessary registration paperwork for regular and special education children who enroll in the Fort Lee Public School District
3. Verify student residency using methods to include but not limited to surveillance, computer programs, paperwork review and any other methods applicable.
4. Prepare monthly reports to be submitted to the business administrator per the form prepared by the administration.
5. Conduct on-site residency verification during appropriate hours to be scheduled by the school business administrator. Equipment will be given to the officer as necessary.
6. Follow up on special cases of absenteeism and truancy.
7. Attend court when necessary, testifying on behalf of the school district cases involving attendance and/or enrollment eligibility.
8. Performs other duties which may be considered related to registration and/or attendance at the request of the business administrator.

Terms of Employment: 12 month, Part-time position

Selection Procedure: Candidates being considered for the position will be contacted by the hiring administrator to schedule an interview.

Effective September 1, 2011, all employees of school districts must reside in the State of New Jersey, unless exempted under law. If you already work for the school district as of September 1, 2011, and you do not live in New Jersey, you are not required to move to New Jersey. However, if you begin your office, position or employment on September 1, 2011 or later, you must reside in New Jersey. If you do not reside in New Jersey, you have one year after the date you take your office, position or employment to relocate your residence to New Jersey. If you do not do so, you are subject to removal from your office, position or employment.
