Special Education Paraprofessionals
Elementary & Secondary Positions Available
2025-2026 School Year

DESCRIPTION
Needed to provide 1-to-1 assistance OR classroom compliance as needed in the elementary or secondary school for students with disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet the Highly Qualified Status requirements;
Two years of study at an institution of higher learning (48 credits);
or
Associate's Degree or higher; or
Passing grade on the ETS ParaPro Assessment.
Interest and empathy toward children; preference is shown for
candidates who have had experience working with children
in a school or community setting.
ABA experience and safe restraint training preferred,
or willingness to be trained.
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
10 Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
COMPENSATION
In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position is 10 Month, Step SM1 <30 ($28,479) - Step SM10 BA/BS ($43,613). Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.

ANNUAL EVALUATION
Performance is reviewed annually in accordance with NJ State law and the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluations for certificated staff.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Ability to be proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position, including but not limited to Google Suite, IEP software program and Genesis Employee Portal and Student Information System.
