Position: School Nurse-Elementary
Qualifications: Valid New Jersey School Nurse Certificate Demonstrates expertise in school health nursing practices and emergency procedures and Required Criminal History Background Check and proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Resident Alien Status
Job Description/Responsibilities: ? Works in cooperation with the school health professionals (i.e., physician, dentist, etc.), members of the staff, parents and community health professionals to ensure a healthy school climate and to minimize absences due to illness.
? Conducts health services and screening programs as required by law and/or board policies.
? Provides emergency care and administers first aid to students and staff according to board policies and procedures.
? Responsible for availability and maintenance of required medical supplies and equipment.
? Maintains up-to-date health records on all students and ensures confidentiality. ? Assists the principal and child study team supervisor in the identification of placement of students with disabilities who need special education services.
? Administers prescribed medication to students in accordance with law and board policies. Provides training and supervision of the emergency administration of epinephrine for designated school staff. ? Other duties as requested by the Principal and/or Superintendent
Salary: As per the current Lopatcong Township BOE/LEA Agreement
