Part-Time Computer Technician
Passaic Valley Regional High School

Qualifications:
A+, Network+, MCSE equivalent certifications or experience preferred
Confidence supporting Microsoft Windows OS, PCs, laptops,  A/V peripherals, MS Office, and Google Apps for Education
Exceptional organizational, written and oral communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills
Must be able to lift 25 pounds

Goal of the Position:
The successful candidate will have knowledge of the PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software. Interested applicants should possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants should have the ability to research and understand technical documentation, and an understanding of how to apply various technical resources. Ability to perform tasks such as providing operating systems and application software installations and upgrades, virus protection and eradication is also required.

Performance Responsibilities: 

  1. Installing, configuring and maintaining desktop and laptop PCs and peripherals such as printers, projectors, and scanners
  2. Provide end user support in various levels of technical and non-technical staff
  3. Install and configure application and operating system software and upgrades
  4. Troubleshooting hardware and network connectivity issues
  5. Remove old equipment and perform data migration to new machines
