Central Jersey College Prep Charter School (CJCP) is a tuition-free, public charter school in Somerset, New Jersey serving grades Kindergarten through 12th. CJCP first opened in 2006 with 77 students, and is now serving a diverse population of over 1,300 students and nearly 300 faculty and staff. CJCP is a recipient of many awards and designations such as:

Art Teacher
Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver comprehensive Art education to students, fostering creativity, fostering creativity, and developing artistic skills.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that introduce students to various art forms, techniques, and art history that align with New Jersey learning standards.
- Regularly assess student progress through assignments, projects, and observations, providing feedback to support artistic development.
- Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment that encourages creativity and active participation.
- Manage art materials and resources to ensure they're properly used and maintained.
- Organize and engage in extracurricular activities like field trips to art museums, contests, art exhibitions to enhance students' appreciation and exposure to art outside of the classroom.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and curriculum developments in art education.
Essential Duties:
- Communicates responsibly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and school leadership;
- Accounts for student attendance and punctuality;
- Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures;
- Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities;
Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent;
- Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communication;
- Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction;
- Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale;
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proven communication and instructional strategies;
- Classroom management skills;
- Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing;
- Excellent organizational skills.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university;
- Valid NJ CE, CEAS, or Standard Teacher Certification;
- NJ Criminal History;
- Work authorization in the U.S.;
- Tuberculosis Test;
- Experience is a plus.
