The Transportation Supervisor performs a wide variety of tasks to assure the smooth, accurate and efficient operation of the district’s Transportation Office. They play a vital role in the efficient functioning of the Transportation Office to best serve the needs of the students, parents and staff.

Possess a high school diploma, or equivalent

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a bus transportation office, preferably as a route planner and/or dispatcher, or a similar setting

Demonstrated ability in handling confidential information, public relations, telephone etiquette and efficient verbal and written communications

Demonstrated organizational and managerial skills, including the ability to communicate and work effectively with building and departmental personnel

Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and to deal with changing priorities

Demonstrated ability to work well independently, making sound judgements while under pressure

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret maps

Knowledge of payroll practices and procedures

Knowledge of pupil transportation rules and regulations

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, office machines, scanning documents, computerized routing software and demonstrated ability to learn new computer programs

Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and well organized work environment

CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements and no restriction for air brakes
