Pleasantville Public Schools (Atlantic County)
The Pleasantville Board of Education seeks an educational leader who is results-oriented, a proven leader with demonstrated administrative and decision-making skills, experienced in staff professional development, effective verbal and written communication skills, an understanding of the importance of community engagement, and experience in discerning and meeting the needs of all learners, also including those with special needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Board, staff, students, parents, and the community to ensure a solid foundation in curriculum and instruction and foster a positive collaborative climate where all children can succeed. This culturally and economically diverse urban district serves approximately 3,600 talented students from Pre-K to grade 12, with 676 dedicated staff, spread over six (6)schools supported by a budget of over $117.5 million.
Qualifications
• NJ School Administrator Certification or Certificate of Eligibility is required
• Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Central Office experience is required
• Experience in a K-12 district is required
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• A collaborative approach that supports each child’s intellectual learning capabilities
• The ability to successfully oversee the facilities of Pleasantville Public School District’s six (6) buildings
• Experience in financial management with solid budget acumen in operating over a million-dollar
budget
• Demonstrated leadership and achievement in curriculum development and the use of technology in
instruction and administration
• Extraordinary skills in motivating, inspiring, and building collaboration among all stakeholders
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills, with a commitment to transparency and
developing relationships and partnerships with the staff and the community
• A proven track record of leveraging resources and opportunities for student and faculty success
• An enthusiasm for working in close partnership with the Board of Education
Salary commensurate with education and qualifications; subject to NJ State regulations.
