Social Studies Teacher

The North Plainfield Social Studies department is a humanities-minded and student-centered department committed to the development of a school community that is culturally competent with a commitment to building cultural understanding and developing an awareness of global issues and topics while increasing student capacity for civic engagement. This is a full-time, tenure-track position.

Candidate should be able to:

• Implement the history curriculum in a manner consistent with school and district goals and objectives
• Select instructional strategies that actively engage students in the use of maps, primary and secondary sources and inquiry driven learning
• Individualize and differentiate instruction
• Demonstrate a strong knowledge of social studies content and standards
• Possess appropriate NJ certification
• Spanish Bilingual is encouraged to apply
