TITLE OF OPEN POSITION: Speech and Language Specialist (Pre K-12)
Maternity Leave Positions (2)
(August 22, 2022 through June 13, 2023)
   
DATE POSITION WILL BE VACANT: August 22, 2022

SALARY RANGE: As per contract between the Board of Education and the Phillipsburg Education Association
 
JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide speech therapy and related services to students K-12 (CST)
Provide speech and language intervention services to students Pre K to K
                                             
QUALIFICATIONS, MANDATORY:
  1. New Jersey Speech and Language Specialist Certification
  2. Certificate of Clinical Competence – CCC’s
  3. Competence in knowledge/skills
  4. Student Centered Focus
  5. Required criminal history background check
 
QUALIFICATIONS, DESIRED:    The applicant should be knowledgeable about the following:
  1. Knowledge of speech and language development
  2. Comfortable working with larger groups
  3. Experience working with children
  4. Ability to design activities that promote the development of vocabulary, auditory processing, phonemic awareness and oral expression in general.
  5. Ability to create innovative learning experiences to promote language development
  6. Ability to provide push-in services in collaboration with teachers
  7. Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  8. Ability to develop and implement projects.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and parents.
  10. Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.
  11. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to case management, performance and  professional growth.
  12. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
