ENGLISH or SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER

Hatikvah International Charter School is a public, secular K-8 program with an enrollment of 665 students in 24-25 (growing to 690 in September 2025) whose studies include partial immersion in Modern Hebrew language. We are an approved International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme in grades 6-8.
Requirements:
The school is seeking a middle school dual-certified high school social studies and English teacher or someone with only high school English certification Candidates need to have excellent oral and written communication skills; a sound knowledge of how to use data to drive instruction; strong skills in differentiation; and inquiry based approaches to learning. The candidate must have experience in collaborative planning and working successfully with a team of teachers. The job requires a "Can-do" attitude. Candidates with MYP experience will be given preference, but all candidates need to be willing to engage in professional development with the International Baccalaureate Program.
Certification: High School K-12 social studies and K-12 English or K-12 English (and not social studies). New graduates expecting a certificate of eligibilty are also encouraged to apply.
Duties:
Classroom teacher responsible for designing rigorous, inquiry-based, common core aligned MYP-IB instruction; parent communication; collaborative planning; formative and summative assessment aligned to standards; ability to differentiate instruction for learners; strong behavior management skills; and strong organizational skills.
