Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction
The Mount Laurel School District seeks a highly effective educational leader knowledgeable in the NJSLS to join our team of supervisors. The district seeks to enhance its support of the curriculum, professional development, and teaching and learning. The successful candidate will work directly with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction to achieve the districts' goals and objectives. This position will focus on the district's Language Arts Literacy and Library Media curriculum and program. The successful candidate must support and enhance the district's partnership with Columbia Univerity and our work with Teachers College's Reading and Writing Project. The district seeks a literacy supervisor knowledgeable in evidence-based and best practices for addressing the learning needs of all students.
The successful candidate must possess a Supervisor certification and be responsible for promoting and enhancing the academic achievement and social-emotional learning of all students and lead district improvement efforts by:
- Collaborating with special education leadership and support alignment to the general education curriculum.
- Promoting, sustaining and improving equity and cultural responsiveness in all areas.
- Supporting data driven decision making and the use of evidenced based practices for increasing student achievement and closing achievement gaps.
- Studying and evaluating instructional materials, teaching strategies, methods and programs in order to correct deficiencies in curriculum that have been identified by analysis of testing data.
- Collaborating with school administrators to ensure curriculum, instructional, and assessment practices of all schools align and meet state learning standards.
- Effectively managing finances for curriculum, instruction and professional development.
- Providing administrative oversight of district educational programs.
- Scheduling and organizing grade level and departmental meetings to ensure horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of the instructional program
- Keeping abreast of current research in the area of curriculum development, teaching and learning.
- 12 month position.
