Student Assistance Counselor (SAC)
Districtwide  Full-time
Tenure Track / 10-Month Position

Anticipated Start Date:  September 1, 2024
 
QUALIFICATIONS:                
       
  1. Valid NJDOE Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) Certification.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations governing substance abuse, substance abuse prevention and related intervention services.
  3. Effective problem-solving, human relations and communication skills.
  4. Experience with programming and counseling for students of varying ages with substance abuse and dependency related problems.
  5. Ability to assist with in-service training of school staff concerning substance abuse.
  6. Demonstrated skills to assist in revising and implementing substance abuse and related policies, procedures, and related intervention services in the district.
  7. Experience cooperating with community service providers or other officials in the rendering of substance abuse and related treatment services.
  8. Ability to coordinate SEL interventions districtwide.
  9. Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status.                                         
                                  
REPORTS TO:                  Director of Special Services
 
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT:                Starting salary Step1 BA $71,017 or Step 1 MA $79,122. Tenure track position refer to terms of collective bargaining agreement (pending completion of negotiations).
