Position: Special Education Teacher – Elementary Self-Contained Classroom
Grades 3-5 (tenure track position)
Eligible Candidates must hold the following certifications:
- Teacher of Elementary and Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certificates
- OR Teacher of the Handicapped Certificate
Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with autism, learning differences, and/or emotional/behavioral disabilities
- ABA experience helpful
- Experience modifying curriculum to meet needs of students in self-contained setting
- Knowledge of positive behavioral supports
- Knowledge of general education practices and NJSLS
- Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, CST members, and parents to implement individualized student programming
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- CPI certification helpful
