School Secretary

Job Description:
The School Secretary will generally be the initial point of contact for people calling or
visiting the school. The School Secretary will be positioned at the main office near the
front door. The School Secretary will also have general clerk/data entry responsibilities
and will report directly to the Business Office.
 
Qualifications:
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
High school diploma, college preferred
Computer literate with MS Office & Google Applications
Good typing skills
Detail oriented
Office experience
Interpersonal skills
Organizational skills
 
Responsibilities
-Observe all school policies and model courteous, professional behavior at all times
-Relate to members, staff, students, and visitors in a warm, helpful way
-Answer phone and door. Take messages, Screen and admit visitors
-Ensure all visitors sign in properly and receive badges
-Filing, including handling of confidential materials
-Prepare mass mailings
-Word processing
-Maintain the outer office, keeping it neat and uncluttered
-Ensure necessary forms are available (purchase requisitions, fax cover sheets,
time sheets, permission sheets, etc.)
-Sign in late students, issue passes and ensure lunch orders
-Enter lunch and attendance information into database
-Special projects to assist the CSA, SBA, or Administrative Asst.
-Attend occasional evening activities as requested
-Maintain student Files
-Copy and mail records of all transferring students
-Do telephone broadcasts as requested
-Maintain staff and student attendance
-Check in all supply orders to assure all items have been received.
-Maintain classroom supplies and order when necessary
-Assist in preparation and distribution of student report cards
Other duties deemed appropriate by the Business Administration
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
10 month contract:
Salary as set by Board of Trustees.
Hours as needed.

 

EVALUATION: Evaluation of this position will be conducted in accordance with
provisions of the Board of Trustees policy and CSA’s evaluation of personnel.
