Summer Day Camp Unit Head (K-1st Grade)

JCC Camp Ruach is committed to creating a positive, meaningful, inclusive adn FUN summer for campers and staff. Staff learn invaluable skills that are immediately transferable to all other aspects of their personal and professional life.

Camp Dates: June 24 - August 16, 2024 (Closed July 4)

Camp Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm 

Responsibilities include:

1. Supervise and evaluate counselors within unit throughout the duration of the summer
2. Provide direct support, tools, and guidance to staff to help them succeed in their position
3. Support campers in unit to have successful camp experience
4. Facilitate engaging pre-camp training sessions for counselors in unit
5. Communicate regularly with campers' guardians and parents via email and phone as needed and send regularly camp updates
6. Keep Camp Director apprised of all important and relevant daily happenings through the course of the summer
7. Attend pre-camp monthly meetings to help prepare for start of camp
8. Willingness to lead from the front as a positive and hands-on role model

Qualifications:

1. Prior camping experience preferred
2. Experience working with elementary age children
3. Prior supervisory experience preferred

• Compensation of $5,700.00 inclusive of all summer responsibilities for a full-time unit head
