Description The following vacancy exists in the Branchburg Township School District:
Payroll Coordinator
Branchburg Board of Education
Start Date: As soon as possible
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • A minimum of two years experience in either public school business operations or auditing, with specific experience in fund accounting and payroll operations
  • Knowledge of NJ Pension Systems and health benefits
  • Knowledge of Federal/State tax and pension laws/regulations, GAAP, and New Jersey school law/regulations and its application to financial matters
  • Experience with computer applications in payroll and fund accounting; demonstration of strong computer and spreadsheet skills
  • Collaborative approach in decision making
  • Such alternatives to these qualifications as the Board of Education may deem appropriate
Responsible For:
  • Accounting of numerous financial transactions
  • Payroll related activities
  • Monthly payrolls and part-time and extra compensation payrolls
  • Pension-related forms and documents on behalf of employees
  • Annual Wage and Tax Statements
  • Submit all federal and state tax reports and payments
  • Preparation for the annual audit, as needed
  • Monitoring the status of cash flow, budget accounts, and bank/budget transfers to the Business Administrator when necessary
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Business Administrator/Board Secretary
