Position:    Full-time Night Shift Custodian

• Hours: 2:00pm - 10:00pm or 3:00pm - 11:00pm Dependent on school assignment

Requirements:    

• High school diploma.

• Must possess valid NJ driver’s license.

• Black Seal license required.

• Minimum of 2 years prior custodial/maintenance experience in an educational environment preferred.

• Ability to climb ladders and lift upwards of 50lbs.

• Knowledge of handling hazardous materials.

• Basic computer skills and experience with facilities management programs such as SchoolDude.

• Previously trained in snow removal efforts.

• Advanced communication skills a plus.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Reports directly to Director of Buildings and Grounds

• Clean and maintain all areas assigned to.

• Assist with general repairs to the limit of ability.

• Assume partial responsibility for security of building assigned to.

• Maintain a safe, functional and aesthetically pleasing building and grounds conducive to an adequate learning environment.

• Move furniture/equipment as required for various activities and as directed by the Principal and Director of Buildings and Grounds.

• Report any damage/vandalism or building operation irregularities immediately to the Director of Buildings and Grounds.

• Store and dispose of trash/waste and recycling according to accepted procedures.

• Obey all fire safety and environmental code compliances and regulations related to standard operating procedures, determined by state law.

• Practice common safety methods as they relate to the Right To Know program, Slips/Trips/Falls prevention, Lock Out-Tag Out protocol, Indoor Air Quality, AHERA, etc.
