Position Overview
The Rochelle Park School District invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time, tenure-track School Nurse position at Midland School, a proud K–8 community currently celebrating its centennial year. The School Nurse serves as a vital member of the school's health and wellness team, working collaboratively with administration, staff, families, and community health providers to support the physical and emotional well-being of all students.

Required Certification & Qualifications
- New Jersey School Nurse Certificate (Certificate of Eligibility or Standard Certificate required)
- Valid New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree preferred
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Experience in pediatric, school, or community health settings preferred
- Knowledge of New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) school health laws and regulations
- Familiarity with Section 504, IDEA, and IEP health plan implementation
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a school-based team
- Bilingual skills a plus
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide direct health services to students, including assessment, first aid, and emergency care
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district protocols
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students in compliance with state and federal law
- Conduct mandated health screenings (vision, hearing, BMI, scoliosis, etc.) per NJDOE timelines
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Health Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)
- Collaborate with the Child Study Team on Section 504 health-related accommodations and IEP health goals
- Serve as a health resource and educator for students, staff, and families
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns and follow-up
- Maintain AED readiness and coordinate with administration on emergency preparedness planning
- Participate in I&RS/MTSS processes, staff wellness initiatives, and professional development
- Comply with communicable disease reporting and exclusion/readmission protocols
- Uphold FERPA, HIPAA, and all applicable confidentiality requirements
