SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER AIDE

Do you have a passion for education and would make an excellent addition to our team? Please see below regarding the types of aides we are looking for. You do not need to be in the field of education however it is preferred.

Our aides work 29.5 hours per week, five days a week. They are enrolled in the DCRP (pension plan) and may voluntarily participate in vision, a flexible spending account, and 403(b) savings plans.

Classroom aide ($19.20/hour):

The classroom aide plays a vital role in supporting the instructional needs of the classroom. As a classroom aide, you will work closely with teachers and students to ensure a productive and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including providing individualized and small group support to students, both academically and behaviorally, as directed by the teacher; assisting students with assignments, projects, and activities to reinforce their learning and promote their progress; and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere by promoting respectful interactions among students.

1:1 aide ($20.40/hour):

The role of a 1:1 aide is to provide individualized support and assistance to a specific student within an educational setting. As a 1:1 aide, you will work closely with a student requiring extra support to ensure their academic and social success. Your primary responsibility is to facilitate the student's learning by supporting the student in understanding and completing academic assignments and tasks; adapting instructional materials and activities to meet the student's individual needs and learning goals; and implementing behavior management strategies and interventions.

Step by step aide ($24.00/hour):

As a Step by Step (SBS) aide, you will work in collaboration with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and the classroom teacher to assist students with autism or other developmental disabilities. Your role as an ABA aide is to provide direct support to the student, facilitate skill development, and assist in behavior management and data collection. ABA training will be provided by the district.
