Deer Mountain Day Camp is looking for creative/fine arts teachers to lead our General Arts & Crafts/Fine Arts program.  Our Lower Camp Arts Program serves campers entering Kindergarten through 3rd Grade.  Our Upper Camp Arts program serves campers entering 4th through 8th grade.  The curriculum includes basic art & crafts projects such as paper mache, lanyard and decoupage.  In Upper Camp we also develop a series of fine arts offerings like charcoal drawing, still life painting, 3D art and print making.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Generate curriculum ideas, lesson plans and samples for the projects that will be executed.  Lead craft sessions.
  • Generate an order and supply list for the program.
  • Prepare the Upper and Lower Camp Crafts cabins.
  • The Upper Camp arts instructor partners with our woodworking instructor to lead a group of campers in developing the set designs for our camp musical.

Camp Dates:

2019 Camp Dates:  Thursday, June 27th to Thursday, August 22nd

Monday to Friday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Available for all pre-season staff trainings (selected days in June 2019)

Available one Saturday in August 2019 for a family event at camp

Daily Lunch provided

About Deer Mountain:

Deer Mountain Day Camp is located in Pomona, NY.  We are a town away from Woodcliff Lake, Mahwah, Montvale and Suffern and 25 minutes from the George Washington Bridge.  We serve campers ranging in age from 3 to 15 who come from Rockland, Bergen, Orange, Westchester and Hudson Counties and New York City.
