School Social Worker - Ocean Academy

Ocean Academy is a therapeutic and behavioral school that focuses on providing a nurturing environment for those students that don’t thrive in a conventional educational setting. 

Position Title:  School Social Worker
Position Type:  Full Time; 40 Hours Weekly

Requirements/Skills:

• Master's Degree In Human Services Field
• LSW required, LCSW preferred
• NJ School Social Worker Certification Required
• NJ School SAC certification preferred.
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Provide school based individual and group counseling and promote personal and social functioning to include, but not limited to:
  • Behavior Management plans and contracts
  • Social skills
  • Conflict resolution
  • Problem solving 
  • Self esteem
• Provide case management as liaison between family, student and send school district's Child Study Team as well as to community based social service organizations. 
• Communicate with sending school districts and parents/guardians in regards to the completion and updating of educational plans, instructional guides and annual reviews
