School Nurse

SCHOOL NURSE:  Middle School. Responsibilities include: health screenings and services,  emergency first aid and the care of those who are ill or injured while in the school setting, maintenance of health records, and the development of comprehensive individual health plans, and management of communicable diseases.

Requirements:

• State of NJ Department of Education School Nurse Standard Certificate
• A current NJ registered professional nurse license issued by the NJ State Board of Nursing
• CPR/AED Certified
• Demonstrated expertise in school health nursing practices and emergency procedures
• Knowledge of child growth and development, community and family dynamics, current health issues and wellness education
• Knowledge of community health and social services resources
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, non-school health professionals and social service agencies
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, organizational and written communication skills as well as computer literate and proficient in student management systems
