School Social Worker (Bilingual)

St. Joseph’s School for the Blind has been providing specialized services since 1891 to individuals with visual impairments across New Jersey. Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, the School is comprised of several programs, such as: Early Intervention, In-district Support Services, School for the Blind, and Adult Services. Qualifications:

• Bilingual: Spanish (Required) 
• Masters of Social Work degree. (Required)
• NJ Department of Education – School Social Worker certification. (Required)
• Division of Consumer Affairs – Social Worker license. (Required)

Responsibilities:

• Assist Principal with intake process, including arranging and scheduling meetings and follow-up.
• Assist Principal with maintenance of student central files.
• Initiate, facilitate and maintain liaison with community agencies and other resources.
• Assist Principal with coordination of transportation arrangements for students.
• Participate in IEP and other education – oriented meetings.
• Participate on School committees as assigned.
• Act as resource and share information with administration, multi-disciplinary teams ad parents.
• Assist Principal with coordination of parent-related activities.
• Act as liaison between School and home on social service issues.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
