HVAC/General maintenance Technician
REPORTS TO: Director of facilities
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate; demonstrates knowledge of HVAC/Refrigeration and ATC controls; 10 years experience in the mentioned fields or alternative experience as acceptable to the Board; valid New Jersey driver’s license; New Jersey Black Seal Boiler license Preferred or must be acquired within 24 months of hiring; EPA universal refrigerant certification.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for identifying problems and making repairs to district HVAC/Refrigeration equipment and providing training to maintenance workers in HVAC/Refrigeration repairs.
2. Repairs HVAC/Refrigeration equipment (including a compressor).
3. Develops and maintains a preventive maintenance program on all district HVAC/Refrigeration equipment and related mechanical/electrical equipment.
4. Assists in the supervision of contracted services by outside contractors.
5. Develops and maintains an inventory of spare parts for equipment repairs.
6. Repairs ATC pneumatic and electrical controls.
7. Responsible for heating, Plumbing, and electrical repairs as assigned
8. Supervises maintenance employees assigned to assist the technician.
9. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 month work year
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board’s policy on evaluation of non certified staff.
