IT Coordinator/Technician Job Description

 

Overview:

The School IT Coordinator/ Technician provides school level technology support for designated schools. This position will provide Technology Support by answering phones, e-mails, and providing customer service to walk-ins. Responsibilities include serving as a liaison between school staff and technology resources. The IT coordinator / technician, you are expected to be an expert in multiple computer systems and programs along with working with teachers and staff to provide new technology. This position also requires working with vendors for purchasing, creating and managing projects along with working with contracted vendors for Backend servers/ systems. 

 

Job Duties:

  • Assist employees with technology issues
  • Report network interruptions and server outages
  • Troubleshoot system errors and failures
  • Scans for and removes computer viruses
  • Repairs and maintains computers and laptops
  • Obtains information and quotes for purchases from vendors
  • Monitors support request and documents all processes
  • Develops and maintains preventive measures to to avoid internet-related interruption
  • Complete technology onboarding for all new students and staff
  • Assist with maintaining safety systems for the district
  • Coordinates with staff and teachers to provide new hardware and software
  • Manage security cameras and participate in safety meetings
  • Participate in administrative meetings
  • Managing the BOE meetings
  • Updating and managing the digital sign outside of Pearson School

 

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of professional IT work experience
  • A+ Certification or equivalent Certification. 
  • Project management experience including new program and system onboarding.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service & problem-solving skills
  • Associates Degree; Bachelor’s degree in IT or any related field preferred or equivalent IT work experience.
