Per Diem Principal Mentor

The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Per Diem Principal Mentor at various locations.


Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Principal in an urban setting.
  2. Proven record of success as a Principal with clear evidence of student growth.
  3. Proven record of success in working in an urban setting.
  4. Ability to mentor and provide support to aspiring leaders.
  5. Principal Certification required.
Preferred:
  1. Experience working in the Newark Board of Education.


Responsibilities

  1. Allocate time for regularly meeting with principals throughout the year
  2. Meeting with school based administrative teams as needed
  3. Observing and coaching the practices of current principals
  4. Assist principals in identifying and solving problems
  5. Review relevant school data and documentation
  6. Assist principals with tracking progress against standards
  7. Consult with supervising assistant Superintendent
Other Responsibilities:
  1. Other duties as assigned

  8. Excellent ability to organize and prioritize projects

Salary, Terms & Affiliation

  1. Salary Range: $500 / day
  2. Employment Period: As needed
  3. Union Affiliation: Unaffiliated
