District Cluster Curriculum Writer

Start/End Date: June 18 - August 15, 2024
Stipend Amount: $1,800.

Qualifications: 

  • Certified Teacher in the State of New Jersey
  • Experience with QSAC requirements preferred. 
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a team of teachers and administrators and implement feedback and revisions required until the curriculum meets expectations. 
  • Ability to meet curriculum deadlines.
  • Google Documents formatting skills.
  • Experience with Understanding By Design framework preferred
  • Must be available for in-person training on June 18, 19, and 20, 2024.

Reports To:
Project Coordinator, Supervisors of Curriculum

Job Goal:
To ensure the development, revision and/or writing of the Warren Hills cluster of districts’ K-6 Math and Language Arts curricula. Completed curriculum document due August 15, 2024 or sooner with revisions and feedback to continue until BOE approval. 

Performance Responsibilities: 

  • Read NJDOE documents on required changes to curriculum. 
  • Participate in curriculum needs assessment.
  • Periodically meet with Project Coordinator and Supervisors of Curriculum (virtual or in person, as needed). 
  • Turnkey/coach staff on new changes and best practices.
  • Create new curriculum.
  • Work in pairs with peers from the cluster. Each pair will be responsible for one subject for one grade level.
  • Writing may be done remotely or in-person at the discretion of the Project Coordinator.
