English as Second Language (ESL) Teacher

Hope Academy Charter School is seeking a qualified individual to teach English as a Second Language instruction to students.
The position requires a strong ability to create units/lessons that integrate WIDA English Language Standards as well as knowledge of NJSLS for all content areas skills and concepts. In addition to an in-depth understanding of NJSLS, must be knowledgeable regarding how to align assessments properly to instruction and use data to drive instruction.

Hope Academy serves an urban, low-income community. This position requires an individual that has experience in urban settings, has strong classroom management skills, is organized and understands the value of forming positive relationships with students and families.

Required:

• ESL teaching experience preferred
• Urban teaching experience
• NJ Certificate for Elementary Teacher (Standard Certification Preferred)
• Bilingual Preferred
• Knowledge of Sheltered Instruction and best practices
• Willingness to support families engagement through events such as parent programs and screeen process
• ability to use and apply technology to enhance instruction
• Desire to engage with other teachers and parents as well as grow professionally
