LearnWell is currently looking for our next creative and passionate teacher to fill a part-time school year teaching role in Trenton, NJ. The certified teacher will work in a unique fast-paced behavioral health facility and treatment center; which involves working with adolescent students in a small classroom setting and supporting them academically with common core subjects while they are receiving treatment.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, prepare and deliver daily lesson plans and instructional material for an average of 7 to 8 students; in a small group setting
- Help students one-on-one if extra assistance is needed on their individual school curriculum.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, hospital and parents regarding student progress and student needs
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
- Updating daily attendance and creating daily session reports for each student
This position entails a 20-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm, some flexibility in hours based on candidate preference.We offer a very generous package of paid time off including vacation time, sick time, federal holidays, and paid school breaks. Qualifications:
- B.A/B.S degree from an accredited institution
- NJ State Standard Teaching Certification or Certification of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of subject matter relevant to students need
- Reliable transportation
