Part Time Art Teacher

Art Teacher:

Saint James Elementary School, located in Red Bank, N.J. is looking for an elementary school art teacher who demonstrates mastery of subject matter, holds high expectations of students, and possess an understanding of child development.

Job description: To develop students' interest, abilities, talents and skills for artistic expression and creativity in a nurturing environment.

Applicants must:

• Demonstrate knowledge of current art instructional teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiating instruction based upon student learning styles.
• Develops and administers school art curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for art instruction.
• Plan and create presentations of art and exhibitions designed to display students' work for the school community.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Interact with students and colleagues in a mutually respectful, and friendly manner.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills that encourage a productive, safe, and disciplined learning environment.

Candidates must submit a current resume, and a valid copy of their New Jersey Teaching certificate.
