FULL-TIME BUS DRIVER/CUSTODIAN
10- or 12-month option; Non-exempt
Position to begin September 2026.
We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Full-Time Bus Driver/Custodian to join our school community. This dual-role position is responsible for safely transporting students during morning and afternoon bus routes while also serving as a Custodian during the school day.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Must possess a valid CDL Class B license with P & S endorsements for school children transport (or willingness to obtain CDL before start of employment).
- Clean driving record required.
- Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
- Awareness of factors of fire and health safety involved in the care of the buildings.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School President may find appropriate
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
The nature of work consists of safely transporting students to and from school before and after school hours.
During the school day:
- Checks and secures the building at the beginning and end of shift for the purpose of ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the building.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways, and other areas of the building according to school district standards.
- Clears snow from the entrance and walks, and spreads sand and ice melting chemicals.
- Provides ground-keeping duties, clears debris, and maintains grounds.
- Ability to work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
- Ability to walk, bend, climb stairs, and move throughout the school building and grounds.
- Ability to work above ground from ladders and automatic lifts.
- Must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs unassisted.
The salary offered will be based on experience and qualifications. The salary range for this full-time position is between $30,000 and $45,000 (with an additional 2 hours of Bus Driver pay for PM run). Full-time positions offer a variety of benefits, including health insurance, dental, vision, 403b and paid time off.
