TITLE:                 Technical Service System Support Technician



  • Knowledge of information technology as a whole, particularly information collection and distribution systems.
  • Working knowledge of device management systems with a demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team in the design, development, and deployment of instructional technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrated ability to participate and manage maintenance systems geared toward end user support for Apple iPads, ChromeBooks, notebook and laptop computers.
  • Ability to service and support enterprise-wide IT distribution and delivery systems services the GTPS network.
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and structured cabling plant, to include data, telephone, access controls and security systems.
  • Ability to install, manage and troubleshoot education based hardware and software systems in all discipline areas.
  • Knowledge of and ability in desktop management of Windows systems.
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage Google systems.


REPORTS TO:  Manager of Technology Support Services


JOB GOAL:        Provides a high level of technology support for educational and administrative requirements and assists in the development and support of the Technology Support Services department.





  1. Ensures a stable performance environment for the enterprise related software systems. Participates in various IT projects to continually improve/upgrade and maintain all technology related services.


  1. Responsible for acquiring, maintaining, and expanding knowledge of relevant product offerings, current support policies, and methods of support delivery, to provide technically accurate solutions to users.


  1. Responsible as an infrastructure on premise wiring and data connection specialist. Specifically, maintaining an internal cabling plant for both data and telephone platforms.


  1. Provides direct service to staff with an emphasis on support for instruction and classroom technology


  1. Provides support and acts as liaison for assigned areas and departments that may include Telephony related services, Surveillance Cameras, and Maintenance. This includes, as needed, interface with outside vendors to ensure systems functioning.


  1. Attends training sessions offered within the group. Leads or participates in team projects that enhance the quality or efficiency of support and leads and assists other help desk staff members in support of a major or complex project.


  1. Regularly communicates user/technical service policies for products supported by the Help Desk.



  1. Provides integral function as a member of the District’s Cyber Defense plan. Day to day support for all forms of Digital Threat Protection and Prevention to include active involvement in threat monitoring and analysis in coordination with in-house cyber defense systems.


  1. Responsible for the district’s Mobile Device Management systems providing for the support of ipads and Chromebooks.


  1. Responsible for the Google Administrative Console.


  1. Performs other such tasks and assumes responsibilities as the Manager of Technology Services may assign and delegate.
