Behavioral Specialist/Therapist (BST)
Position to Start on or about date of September 1, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s degree with specific licensure as BCBA certificate or is working towards it
2. Minimum experience as determined by the Superintendent.
3. Ability to interpret and implement all Board policies, Federal and State Laws, and Administrative
Regulations.
4. Ability to provide direction to others and to make independent judgments.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing)
with students, parents, teachers, and community.
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with student, staff, and/or parent information.
7. Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and to meet deadlines.
8. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the use of educationally appropriate technology.
9. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION
JOB GOAL: The purpose of the Behavioral Specialist/Therapist (BST) is to provide comprehensive
behavior supports and services to Students with Disabilities, as assigned and determined
by the Director of Special Education, and in consultation with the Child Study Team
(CST). The BST will work to improve student behavioral and social/emotional
functioning via direct student services and/or staff/parent consultative services.
SALARY: In accordance with the BREA Negotiated Agreement
