School Occupational Therapist (temporary)
Hawkswood School is searching for a temporary pediatric School Occupational Therapist to cover a few upcoming leaves of absence. The schedule is full time, 5 days per week for approximately 3 to 9 months, starting in June, 2026. The caseload includes elementary-age students on the autism spectrum and elementary- and adolescent age medically complex students.
Hawkswood School is a private school in Eatontown, New Jersey, approved by the State of New Jersey to provide special education services and supports to students on the autism spectrum and to students with multiple disabilities, ages 3 to 21. We are committed to empowering students with disabilities to be self-expressed, self-directed and contributing members of their families and communities. Hawkswood School runs a 12-month program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluate and recommend children for occupational therapy upon referral from sending district.
- Prepare current motor status and goals for students’ Individual Educational Plans.
- Schedule and administer therapy as per evaluation and treatment plan.
- Prepare Progress Reports four times per year.
- Refer to and maintain contact with other professionals where necessary.
- Maintain daily student contact records.
Certification Requirements:
Must possess or be eligible for a NJ Dept of Education certification as School Occupational Therapist and NJ license as Occupational Therapist. Pediatric experience and experience with individuals with special needs is helpful.

Competitive salary ranging from $78,000 to $113,000 per year and medical/Rx benefits are available for this temporary position under the ACA.
