POSITION:         Anticipated - Supervisor or Vice Principal of Schools for Special Services
                            (Twelve (12) Month Position)

START DATE    July 1, 2025


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • New Jersey Supervisor Certificate OR Standard New Jersey State Principal Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Knowledge and experience of special education, regular education and remedial education programs, and curricula.
  • Ability to implement an effective staff evaluation and staff development program.
  • Knowledge of effective models and designs for high standard student academic program.
  • Evidence of successful experience in a supervisory position.
  • Knowledge of child study team.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to special education.
  • Certification in education services field preferred.
  • Success in grant writing.
  • Alternatives to the above qualifications the Commission finds appropriate and acceptable.
 
SCOPE:
The Supervisor OR Vice Principal of School Programs and Services, reports to the school principal and as requested and approved, assists the principal in supervisory and administrative duties, required to assure full compliance to statute and code and a high standard of academic program for students.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the development, design and implementation of high quality school programs, initiating curricula development as directed by the principal to meet changing student needs.
  • Assist in providing supervision and evaluation of certified and non-certified staff, in a consistent manner to improve overall employee performance.
  • Assume administrative responsibility for the school building in the event of the principal’s absence.
  • Assist in providing staff development training through in-service workshops and model demonstration instruction within classrooms.
  • Assist in seeking out sources of program funding and assist in the development of grant proposals to increase school/program resources and broaden student educational offerings.
  • Assist in the monitoring of board-approved instructional materials, resources and equipment, to ensure alignment with students’ individualized objectives and goals.
  • Assist in effective student management.
  • Oversee case management and assist principal with student intakes as needed.
  • Keep abreast of current methods, philosophies and programs in the literature and research and incorporate to enhance student programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
 
Minimum salary:  $95,000
