Princeton Public Schools seek an outstanding educational leader to serve as an deputy superintendent of Human Resources, Public Information and Community Relations.


About Princeton:

Founded before the American Revolutionary War, Princeton is home of Princeton University, which bears its name and moved to the community in 1756. The deputy superintendent responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of Human Resources Department
  • Oversight of Student & Staff Safety Department
  • Oversight of Public Information/Community Affairs Department
  • Informs the Superintendent on issues with state and federal regulations
  • Attends School Board meetings/work sessions and prepares and presents report for the School Board as requested and directed.
  • Prepare and monitor assigned budget
  • Review and authorize requests for the purchase of department materials
  • Ensure sound organizational structure for operations
  • Direct the work of assigned personnel
  • Direct the preparation of reports as required.


The deputy superintendent shall have demonstrated experience as an Assistant Superintendent of HR or comparable position; Hold or be eligible for a Certificate of Eligibility for a School Administrator’s Certificate in accordance with the requirements of New Jersey; Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ability to motivate staff.


Demonstrate strong knowledge and understanding of strategic staffing, organizational leadership, and management. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing using proper grammar and vocabulary.


Salary:  In the range of $180,00; subject to qualifications, experience, and negotiations

Start date:  No later than July 1, 2022, or if available sooner.
