Stipend: $3,359- $4,003 depending upon experience

Athletic Stipend Position Description

Qualifications

• CPR/AED Certification required.
• Valid New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certification required.
  • To be eligible for a New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certificate, candidates must have completed a minimum of 30 semester-hour credits at an accredited college or university and be at least 18 years of age.
  • The Human Resources Department will assist qualified candidates with obtaining the required certification, if needed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Through working with School Nurse and Athletic Director, maintain student eligibility lists, including permission slips, medical clearances, and academic eligibility.
• Conduct team tryouts if needed, ensuring all students in grades 6–8 have an equal opportunity to participate.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team travel.
• Submit team rosters to the Athletic Director and school office staff. 
• Maintain and submit daily attendance records for all practices and competitions.
• Issue, collect, inventory, and maintain all equipment and uniforms associated with the wrestling program.
• Foster positive sportsmanship and maintain professional relationships with students, families, faculty, officials, and the community.
• Promote and uphold the policies, procedures, and expectations of Wharton Borough Public Schools and Alfred C. MacKinnon Middle School.
