Upper School Physics Teacher

The Pennington School seeks an Upper School science teacher to teach classes in grades 9-12, collaborate with colleagues to strengthen interdisciplinary instruction, and facilitate other experiences for student enrichment in STEM-related activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach students in courses including, but not limited to, physics, physics honors and AP physics

• Embrace student-centered teaching practices and collaborate with other science faculty to strengthen interdisciplinary instruction of skills within the sciences

• Work to elicit individual excellence in every student, moving the student toward personal and collective goals in skills, habits of mind, and understanding.
• Demonstrate warmth, collegiality, humor, and industry in interactions with students and colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A degree in physics or related subject area, with a master's degree, preferred.
• Minimum of three years of high school teaching experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with a range of learning styles.
• Experience/willingness to lead at least two extracurricular and/or athletic endeavors.

This position is full-time, exempt from overtime, and eligible for all benefits afforded to full-time Pennington School employees.
