About Us: The Eastern Camden County Regional School District is a forward-thinking and innovative school district that values the integration of technology into the educational environment. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Technology Technician to join our team and support our Apple-centric technology environment.
Position Overview: As the Lead Technology Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our technology infrastructure to enhance the learning experience for our students, support our staff, and improve our cybersecurity posture. This role will involve working with a wide range of systems from a variety of vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops, supports, and assists in coordinating technical operations of the district.
- Deploys systems architecture to support organizational goals.
- Leads technical projects involving various systems (endpoints, networks, servers, phones, surveillance, cloud-based services).
- Provides advanced technical support and maintenance for macOS, iOS/iPad OS, Windows, and Linux-based software and hardware.
- Leads a small team of district technicians.
- Manages and administers district server and network infrastructure.
- Provides staff technology training as needed.
- Develops workflows and automation for device deployment.
- Maintains district website back-end configuration.
- Manipulates datasets for use in various systems.
- Assists CTO in improving the district's cybersecurity posture.
- Monitors and resolves related operational issues.
- Provides help desk support to address technology-related issues for staff and students.
- Stays up-to-date with the latest technology trends and recommend improvements to enhance the district's technology environment.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of information systems and systems development life cycle.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in an Apple-centric environment utilizing MDM (e.g. Jamf Pro) with Apple endpoints (preferred).
- Substantial bash/zsh scripting skills for macOS configuration workflows and automation (preferred).
- Experience leading technical projects and coordinating work across multiple systems and vendors.
- Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or serving as a technical lead (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise or educational technology environments. (preferred).
- Ability to provide advanced troubleshooting and support across macOS, Windows, Linux, and mobile platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of server and infrastructure systems (on-prem and/or cloud).
- Proficiency in networking fundamentals (switching, VLANs, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP) and managing hardware appliances (firewalls, etc.)
- Comfortable manipulating and transforming datasets to aid in batch processes (vlookup, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Willingness to become a subject matter expert in a specific area, as needed.
- Strong desire to improve and consistently learn about new areas of technology (AI, etc.).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
Reports To: Chief Technology Officer
Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) month year
Evaluation: In accordance with Board of Education Policy
Salary & Benefits: Anticipated salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Medical, dental, Rx and vision benefits are offered. Employees will contribute an amount toward health benefit premiums in accordance with an established table. The amount of contribution will be determined by the type of coverage (i.e. - single, family), the amount of the total premium assessed for coverage and the amount of the employee’s salary.
