Position Responsibilities

The High School Science Teacher will:

  • Design and deliver engaging, standards-based science instruction for middle school students
  • Develop creative lessons that promote inquiry, critical thinking, and hands-on learning
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Foster a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assess student learning using formal and informal measures
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback
  • Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, administrators, and families to support student success
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and team planning

Qualifications

We are looking for educators who possess:

  • Passion for working with middle school students
  • Strong knowledge of science content and instructional best practices
  • Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to engage students through hands-on, inquiry-based learning
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • New Jersey High School with Subject Matter Specialization: Chemistry and Biology
  • Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) Certificate
  • Teacher of the Handicapped Certification
  • Experience working with students with emotional or behavioral challenges
