At Thrive Charter School, we believe that preparing students for a global future begins with language and culture. Located in Hamilton, New Jersey, our mission is to empower students with knowledge, critical thinking skills, and a strong sense of civic responsibility. We are seeking a dynamic, engaging, and fluent K-8 Spanish Teacher to build an exciting world language program that inspires a love for the Spanish language and celebrates diverse Hispanic cultures across all grade levels.
As the K-8 Spanish Teacher at Thrive, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the world language journey for our entire student body. You will design and deliver age-appropriate, proficiency-based lessons that introduce our youngest learners to basic vocabulary and song, while guiding our middle school scholars toward conversational confidence and cultural literacy.
-
Instruction & Curriculum: Design and implement a cohesive, engaging K-8 Spanish curriculum aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for World Languages (NJSLS-WL).
-
Differentiated Teaching: Adapt teaching methods to meet the developmental needs of varying age groups—utilizing movement, music, and storytelling for K-2, and project-based learning and conversation for grades 3-8.
-
Classroom Culture: Create an inclusive, high-energy, and culturally immersive classroom environment where students feel safe taking risks in language learning.
-
Cultural Integration: Infuse historical, geographical, and cultural elements of the Spanish-speaking world into the curriculum (e.g., celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and cultural traditions).
-
School Community Collaboration: Collaborate with elementary and middle school grade-level teams to integrate cross-curricular themes, and actively participate in school-wide events and professional development.
