Custodian

Custodian to work at both the Mary Bray and Raymond W Kershaw school buildings

 REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of:
  • Plant operation and maintenance
  • Proper handling of hazardous materials
  • Heating and ventilation
  • Cleaning methods and procedures
• Black Seal Certification or willingness to obtain Black Sea Certification require
• Completion of full Criminal Background and Fingerprinting process at their own expense

 RESPONSIBILITIES

• Building Security
  • Opens/closes school building each day
• Building Maintenance
  • Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean
  • Operates heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical use of fuel, water, and electricity
  • Cleans and dusts school building spaces; Cleans and sanitizes bathroom fixtures and floors
  • Moves furniture or equipment as required
  • Conducts ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep and repair, making minor repairs and reporting need for major repairs
• Grounds Maintenance
  • Keeps grounds clean and neat
  • Shovels, plows, salts, and/or sweeps sidewalks, steps, driveways and parking areas as necessary.
  • Performs grounds-keeping chores including grass-cutting, tree-trimming, leaf raking and removal of litter
