Notre Dame High School has an opening for a full-time teacher in the English department as of February 1, 2022

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in English
  • State Certification as a teacher is preferred

Class Format: At Notre Dame High School, each student is known, and the results of student progress are carefully monitored. Notre Dame maintains restrictions on class size and overall teacher-student ratio, to ensure individual attention.  Because Notre Dame employs a modified block scheduling model, the school year mirrors academic years at college with classes running by semester rather than by whole year. 

TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards;
  • Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards;
  • Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;
  • Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions;
  • Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior;
  • Be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards;
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues;
  • Participate in annual compliance training; and
  • Participate in English department and full faculty meetings and in-service days;
