TITLE: Part-time Speech/Language Pathologist
QUALIFICATIONS:
- NJ Standard Certification preferred;holders of Certificate of Eligibility also encouraged to apply for school-based services in speech-language pathology, or its equivalent, from a regionally accredited college/university.
- New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate as Speech Language Specialist
- Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Must have a working knowledge of computers, technology and Google Drive.
REPORTS TO: Principal and / or Supervisor
JOB GOAL:
- Assists and guides staff members in observing, describing and referring speech and language impairments.
- Screens and provides evaluations to diagnosis speech, voice, hearing and language impairments.
- Provides individualized educational plan of therapy to meet individual student’s needs.
- Collaborate with teaching and other school staff in implementation of therapy by suggestions of daily activities and facilitation of multi-disciplinary groups.
- Provides information, support and counseling to parents, guardians and families.
- Maintains appropriate case records and adheres to adopted operating procedures of the Child Study Team.
- Maintains professional competence through participation in inservice education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
- Assists and guides staff members in observing, describing and referring speech and language impairments.
- Screens, provide assessment and diagnosis speech, voice, hearing and language impairments.
- Provides individualized and group speech/language therapy to meet individual student’s needs.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Position is 10-month, school year-based, 2 days per week (flexible with days) Anticpated start date is September 2021.
