The Berlin Township School District, located in Camden County, New Jersey, is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, full-time Upper Elementary Special Education English Language Arts Teacher to join our school community.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of literacy instruction, differentiated learning, inclusive educational practices, and collaborative teaching models to support diverse learners in a middle school setting. 

The ideal candidate is committed to creating a positive, engaging, and academically rigorous classroom environment that promotes student growth, independence and confidence. 

Qualifications: 

• English (K-12) and Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Elementary School and Teacher of Students with Disabilities (or documented eligible for the same)
• Ability to work in a collaborative setting and co-teaching setting
• Knowledge and understanding of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards
• A philosophical and practical understanding of differentiated instruction and a balanced literacy program including structured writing instruction, reading comprehension and vocabulary development
• Broad knowledge of age-appropriate fiction and non-fiction texts
• Ability to differentiate instruction, learning activities and assessments based on individual student learning needs
• Capacity to analyze student performance data to guide instructional planning and intervention
• Practical knowledge of current, research-based, effective educational practices
• Strong and effective classroom management and behavior management skills based on Positive Behavior Supports and Restorative Discipline paradigms
• Practical and instructional knowledge, skills and application in technology for educational purposes
• Knowledge of writing Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) with specific and targeted measurable goals and objectives 

• Excellent speaking and writing communication skills
