QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
2. Knowledge of school operations and cleaning
methods and procedures and proper handling
of hazardous materials
3. Good physical health and ability to perform assigned tasks
4. Minimum of one year of previous work related experience
5. Required criminal history background check and proof of
U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
REPORTS TO: Facility Manager / Business Administrator
SALARY: $16.50/hour

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
The night custodian is charged with the responsibility of cleaning all assigned classes,
as well as special areas and offices. They will prepare the classrooms for the following
day’s classes. They shall plan their cleaning assignment under the general direction of the
Facility Manager so that custodial operations are well-coordinated.
Daily responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Lock all classroom doors daily
- Dry mop/vacuum all rooms
- Empty waste paper baskets and pencil sharpeners
- Clean and wet mop boys and girls lavatories
- Clean wash basins, bowls and drinking fountains
- Daily cleaning of desk tops and window sills
- Report to the Facility Manager any need for maintenance that becomes evident in the course of their duties
- Assist Facility Manager with general maintenance
The hours of work are 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. during the school year. Summer
hours vary (usually 5-6 hrs/day) Winter and Spring Break times are 8 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Annual Contract
EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the board's policy on the evaluation of non-certified personnel.
