JOB DESCRIPTION

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
  2. Four (4) year apprenticeship and achievement of journeyman status.
  3. Ability to coordinate work processes around the schedules of a number of other trade groups simultaneously.
  4. Union member in good standing.
REPORTS TO:        Mason Foreman

JOB GOAL

Performs the work of a mason including mixing and finishing concrete, brick laying, plastering, spackling, pasting, caulking, patching, etc.
 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Concrete mixing and finishing/brick laying: set forms, expansions, joints; hand mixes as needed.
  2. Stucco/spackling/caulking/patching/plastering
  3. Other: insulates and refractors the inside of boilers.
  4. Tool preventative maintenance: sharpen hatchets, maintains all personal tools/supplies.
  5. General supplies maintenance: wheelbarrows, paint pans, brushes, etc.
  6. Moves all supplies, furniture, materials, tools & equipment, as needed.
  7. Assists with snow removal throughout the District.
  8. Performs other duties of the Maintenance Department, as may be assigned by the Facilities Administrator, Mason Foreman or designee.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
Working Conditions: Exposure to extreme temperatures; indoor/outdoor work; opportunity
for periods of medium to heavy physical exertion
Work Hazards:
TERM OF
Exposure to epoxies, acids, chemicals, loud noises, and other elements or conditions which could potentially pose a threat to health if proper safety precautions are not followed, and/or if in certain instances personal protective clothing and equipment is not worn.
