BUSINESS EDUCATION TEACHER

1.0 FTE – Columbia High School

 
AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 2022
THE POSITION
 
Candidate must hold N.J. Certification in Business Education and be able to teach both basic and advanced word-processing classes as well as general business classes in management, marketing, business law and accounting. Teach business related semester courses to diverse learners in grades 9-12.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  1. NJ Certification for Teacher of Business Education.
    • Preferred:  Certificate 1300 (Comprehensive Business)
    • Acceptable:  Certificates 1302 + 1304 (Business: Finance/Economics/Law & Business: Computer Applications: and Business-Related Information Technology).
  2. Familiarity with the States’ Career Clusters; NJCCCS for Career Education and Consumer, Family and Life Skills; and the NJCCCS for Technological Literacy.
  3. Ability to teach all Microsoft Office Application Programs.
  4. Ability to teach business related theory classes that include accounting, law, management, and finance.
  5. Ability to develop lessons and projects through interdisciplinary connections.
  6. Teacher experience with diverse learners preferred.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
  9. Familiarity with FBLA student organization.
  10. Familiarity with Carl D. Perkins Grant a plus.

JOB GOAL(S)
 
To provide instructional leadership in the classroom in accordance with the course of study approved by the Board of Education approved curriculum.
