Pope John XXIII Regional High School located in Sparta, NJ, is part of the Catholic Academy of Sussex County. Pope John High School houses students in grades 8 through 12.
 
We are currently looking for a Girls' Head Varsity Volleyball Coach and a Girls' Head Varsity Soccer Coach for the 2025-2026 School year.

GIRLS' VARSITY HEAD SOCCER COACH for the 2025/2026 school year.

Position Requirements:

 

  • Must be on campus from 2:50 PM until the conclusion of practice and/or athletic contests, including both home and away games, which may take place in the evening or on weekends.

  • Demonstrated experience and competencies relevant to the position’s performance responsibilities.

  • Completion of a required employment background check.

  • Must hold a valid CPR/AED/First Aid certification or obtain certification prior to the start of the season.

Job Goal:

  • Plan, coordinate, and promote a comprehensive soccer program that meets the needs and interests of the school community.

  • Provide effective leadership that fosters a positive learning environment and emphasizes academic achievement, teamwork, and social responsibility, while consistently modeling high ethical standards and professionalism.

  • Honor commitment to the school by being present at all scheduled practices and competitions.

  • Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Coach’s Code of Conduct.

  • Train prospective student-athletes, conduct and supervise effective practices and activities, and maintain accurate records of equipment and inventory.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational, motivational, and instructional abilities, offering clear guidance to all players.

  • Continuously monitor student-athletes’ academic progress and overall success throughout the season.

  • Collaborate with Team Parents to create a positive experience and promote team bonding among student-athletes.

  • Maintain open and consistent communication with the Athletic Director regarding all team matters, including games and tournaments.

  • Partner with the athletic training staff to develop and implement return-to-play protocols for injured student-athletes.

THEOLOGY TEACHER

Pope John the XXIII Regional High School has students in grades 8 through 12. We are currently seeking a possible replacement for a full-time Theology teacher. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree with a master’s in theology (preferably) or Divinity or be in the process of obtaining one.

  • All faculty members must be digitally proficient (using a digital gradebook and Google Classroom to post work and assignments).
  • Exhibit good classroom management.
  • Create a healthy classroom environment based on mutual respect.
  • Respect the doctrine of the Catholic Church.
  • Be flexible in assisting with duties.
  • Keep grades in the digital gradebook current.
  • Communicate with parents when needed.
  • Create and submit Unit Plans.
